Record Handling: Southern Region’s public ports reach 60.3 million tons.
Southern Ports Break Record!
In the first half of 2025, public ports in the Southern Region handled 60.3 million tons, an increase of 4.9% compared to 2024.
Paranaguá led (30.9 Mt), followed by Rio Grande (14.2 Mt) and São Francisco do Sul (8.8 Mt).
Highlights:

Containers: +18.18% (14.3 Mt)

General cargo: +15.6%

Soybeans (12.6 Mt) and fertilizers (8.8 Mt) drove growth
The Ministry of Ports and Airports announced new investments and auctions to modernize infrastructure, including the dredging of the Port of Paranaguá, a R$ 1 billion project that will boost exports and jobs.
The Southern Region is consolidating itself as a strategic hub for national and international trade.
